Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church. -Colossians 1:24
"Mustafa" was recruited into a brutal terrorist group at a young age. He spent much of his life pursuing, torturing, and killing followers of Jesus.
Then one day, Mustafa met "Silas", a captured believer who had been severely beaten in captivity at the terrorist camp, and was scheduled to be dismembered and executed within days.
Mustafa's heart began to soften toward Silas because of his faithfulness in the face of being beaten and tortured, and he made the brave decision to assist Silas in escaping.
During the escape to safety, Silas told Mustafa that Jesus loves him and died for him. And Mustafa's heart was changed.
After dropping Silas off at a safe place, Mustafa traveled back to the terrorist camp and began telling everyone he could about Jesus and "Silas' God".
This act cost Mustafa his life, and he was executed for his betrayal.
Each day, countless believers like Mustafa and Silas face beatings, torture, and even death because of their faith – but God is using them to plant seeds of truth in the hearts of their persecutors.
