Toby and Alycia are dedicated missionaries supported through SIM, serving with iReach Global. As co-founders of iReach alongside their longtime friend and ministry partner, Clint Lyons, they are passionate about fostering understanding and collaboration across cultural and religious divides.
The Abts met at their sending church, Bent Tree Bible Fellowship. This church played a significant role in training and equipping them for missionary work. Bent Tree has greatly impacted the work Toby and Alycia have been involved in, especially as they created two ministries based on the church's teachings.
Having lived in Nigeria for over a decade, Toby and Alycia established BRiCC (Building Relationships in City Center), a community center dedicated to promoting peace and reconciliation between Muslims and Christians. Their work has made significant strides in bridging gaps and fostering dialogue within the community.
Toby developed a discussion program that helps churchgoers grasp the fundamentals of their faith while emphasizing the importance of relational evangelism. This program serves as the foundation of iReach's work, discipling participants and equipping them to share the love of Christ in their communities. Toby regularly travels to both West and East Africa to assist Nigerian and Kenyan workers in training facilitators for the iReach discussion program.
Alycia serves as the TCK (Third Culture Kid) Coordinator for another missionary-sending organization. She works with families preparing to move overseas to plant churches, providing support and guidance. Additionally, she meets with families during their visits to the U.S., focusing on member care specifically for these incredible kids.
Through their ongoing work, Toby and Alycia continue to inspire others with their commitment to service and their belief in the transformative power of love and understanding.
